Plog 8-05-08: Philips 5.6-Inch Digital Photo Frame
If anyone out there is looking for a nice photo frame. This is it. I've had it since March but just loaded up an SD card with photos and started using the frame yesterday.
I love this thing. The images are EXTREMELY sharp and vibrant. The controls are simple, it is silent (unless you are playing a video of course). The frame has a Tilt Sensor, so when you turn it to portrait mode it will display all the images in that mode, here in this photo I'm displaying a tall image in frame landscape mode, it adds a white edging (which you can change to black or gray).
There is built-in internal memory but you can get a lot of images on a memory card. The frame takes SD, XD, CF. I just love it, thinking of getting another one (I have this one at work).
Some reviews say that this frame chugs or freezes after 5 mins but I had it running all day yesterday slideshow with 103 images and a fade between each one - absolutely no problems. I would recommend resizing your images to 640x480 before putting them in the frame, that way the frame doesn't have to resize them.
