Ah yes, another photo blog. "Daily" photos for all to enjoy.
Plog 1-30-08: Getting Closer
Right now, there's lot going on with me - two photo projects and a video tutorial project. Problem is, they all have the same deadline - this weekend. Hectic days.
So far, everything is going smooth except for my LPS SF4 entry over at dGrin. I don't have anything or any ideas for it yet. At least I'll have most of saturday and sunday to get that figured out.
Anyways...this photo is of a flower in my office lobby. I took it with my LX2 in macro mode on the way back from lunch today. It turned out decent, just wish there wasn't so much crap in the background.
Plog 1-28-08: Guns @ Work
Well, I'm getting closer to a picture a day. Only 4 days apart this time.
This is my mouse at work. Yes it's a gun mouse. It's very annoying for other people to use (a plus) and it looks really cool. The black things at the bottom of the grip are two pads I made from my old mouse pad. Unfortunately this gun mouse is no made for women's hands, so it was a bit straining to keep my hand up high enough to reach the buttons. I added those spacers and now its perfect.
I really love the vertical positioning of my hand, it takes a lot of strain off my wrist. Not to mention it was a lot cheaper then the 'vertical' mice you can special order (they start around $80, this one much less).
Plog 1-24-08: Photos
I took this a while ago, but just downloaded and processed it today. I actually forgot that I had taken it. I remember now though it was the walk to lunch and the clouds just looked so pretty.
Right now I'm trying to figure out what to take a picture of for LPS Semifinal #4. I have a few ideas, but not much time to try a lot out.
Plog 1-21-08: Nice Try
This photo I took Saturday, but didn't get a chance to post my Plog because of internet issues. Stupid Internet.
Anyway, I entered this photo for the DGrin LPS contest. Its not looking like I'll get one of the 10 slots to move to the next round. Oh well, at least I entered for a change.
[edit 1-22] HOLY COW! Winners for the contest were just announced and I made it to the next round!
Plog 12-20-07: Mmmmm Santa
The picture to the left is a 100% chocolate Santa, approximately 3ft tall. Yummy. Now I know the reason for the season. ;-)
This is from the gift shop at the Ethel M. Factory (that is an M&M's factory). [Un]fortunately Santa is "for display only".
Plog 12-18-07: Ah! A Ghost!
So there was this little girl ghost trying to take back her skull from my truck. My super awesome black kitten chased her away though. Now I can sell her skull on eBay as I had planned.
Plog Day 2b: Thriling
Alright, so tonight I went to the top of the Stratosphere to test out my new nifty fifty (50mm f/1.4). This was my first time trying to take some photos at night with my 40D. I am pleased that some of the photos came out. I experimented a lot with settings to see what worked best. Next time I'll bring my monopod.
This is one of my favorite shots from the night. These folks are on a ride that dangles them over edge of the Stratosphere. They are aproximately 110 stories up in the air. Then it starts spinning and soon the people in the chairs are almost completely horizontal staring at the Las Vegas Strip straight down.
Plog Day ???: Holiday Cheer
Ok, so it's been a while. I have a newfound respect for everyone who manages to actually get a photo and upload it every day for a year. I couldn't even do it for a week! I get distracted easily.
Well, here is a photo of the holiday tree that we have in the office. About half of us pitched in to buy it and all the girls helped to decorate it (even though it had lights and fibre-optics built in. lol)
Decent little tree and we'll keep it for years and years until we all get fired. :)
Plog Day 8: Ren Fair!
Went to the Ren Fair today. It got a bit too warm for me to stay too long, but I did manage to catch one of the jousting matches (and some other things too). Even though I wasn\'t able to get a very good spot to take pictures, I was able to try some fast shutter speeds.
I think that this one turned out pretty well. Would have been nice if I could have been a little closer to the fence, but you take what you can get.
Plog Day 7: I think.
Losing track already. Well, here's a picture for today. Havin some fun with friends at my place tonight. Playing Halo3 and this gadget known as the Nintendo Virtual Boy. Unlike what people may say, it most assuredly does not make a person's eyes bleed.
